Headache and migraine treatment
Assessment and treatment for migraine, dizziness, and neck-related symptoms.
Understanding headaches and migraines
Headaches and migraines are common but complex conditions that can cause much more than head pain. Many people experience associated symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, neck discomfort, visual changes, nausea, and increased sensitivity to light, sound, or movement, which can significantly affect quality of life.
At Vertigo Clinic, we also offer assessment and treatment approaches for certain types of headaches and migraines using principles from the Watson Headache® Approach.
Justine Drummond, Senior Physiotherapist and Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapist has completed the Watson Headache® Institute Level 1 Foundation Course, providing additional training in the assessment and management of headaches and migraines that may have a cervical spine component. This approach focuses on identifying dysfunction within the upper neck that may contribute to symptoms such as headache, migraine, dizziness, neck pain, nausea, and visual disturbance.
Treatment is gentle and tailored to the individual, with the aim of reducing symptom severity and improving day-to-day function. The Watson Headache® Approach can be particularly helpful for some people experiencing cervicogenic headache, migraine, or persistent dizziness associated with neck dysfunction.
Every treatment plan is individualised and based on your specific symptoms, presentation, and needs.
